Four decades of building landscapes — and the people who care for them — across California's Central Valley.
1977
One mower. One edger.
Konrad Nishikawa started a gardening operation in Fresno, maintaining residential homes and gradually expanding to apartment complexes and commercial office properties.
1980s–90s
Two companies take shape.
Konrad built two successful landscape corporations — NPM Inc. for commercial maintenance and Nish-Ko Inc. for landscape construction — with full-service design/build capabilities and a long list of satisfied customers.
1998
The Sports Turf Division is born.
Fresno State Head Football Coach Pat Hill and Head Athletic Trainer Paul Schechter recruited Konrad to build the Bulldogs football practice facility. Over Coach Hill's thirteen-year tenure, Konrad managed all daily field operations — and the Sports Turf Division was born, later becoming the company's trademark service.
Today
A standard, still rising.
Both divisions continue delivering premier athletic fields and turf-grass expertise to municipalities, high schools, universities, and professional athletic organizations across California.
